Oracle of Consciousness
#36 - Prana
Prana, Chi,
Life-force Energy
All life is powered by energy
Prana, Chi, Life-force Energy - three names, one energy.
Prana
The Sanskrit word prana was first referenced in the 3,000-year-old Chandogya Upanishad text and was further refined and
described in later Upanishads.
Chi
The label Chi first appeared during China's Shang dynasty approximately 3,000 years ago. Chi (qi) is the force that makes up and binds together all things in the universe.
Life-force Energy
The meaning of Life force energy is
defined as the infinite energy that flows through all living things, the vitality of which, keeps us alive.
Energy combined with Consciousness = Life.
What does Prana, Chi, Life-force Energy do?
It is the primary 'fuel' which creates, drives and maintains our bodies, all living species and beyond.
It is the source of our stamina and vitality.
It is infinite.
It cannot be seen, but can be felt and its effects can be witnessed.
It is a renewable and regenerative power.
Where does Prana, Chi
and Life-force Energy
come from?
Locally, two sources are:
1. From our food and
2. The air we breathe.
It is all around us and infinite.
We can also absorb it through our skin and breath, where it is distributed to our body's cells through minute passages called nadis or meridians.
Nadis are channels carrying air, water, nutrients, blood and other bodily fluids around and to every cell in our body.
As for its origins, I would take a guess that it arises out of consciousness!
