Oracle of Consciousness

Journeys of the Soul
Lake Titicaca

Lake Titicaca considered to be the Earth's 2nd or Sacral Chakra, is located on the high Andes plateau, along the border between Peru and Bolivia.

It is situated at an elevation of 3,810 meters (12,500 feet) above sea level, making it the highest major body of navigable water in the world.

The lake is approximately 190 kilometres (120 miles) long and 80 kilometres (50 miles) wide, covering an area of about 8,300 square kilometres (3,200 square miles).

It is suggested that it is associated with creativity, emotion, and manifestation.

Jake and Angelique had travelled the 450 kilometres (279 miles) over a leisurely few days from Machu Picchu, a destination on the latter's 'Bucket List' since she was a teenager.

They soaked up the sights, sounds and happy faces along the way.

Their private driver was very knowledgeable and most accommodating to their needs as first-timers to South America.

He loved answering endless questions about his culture, food and in particular, their famous music - namely the pan pipes and quena.

While in Machu Picchu, Angelique had caught the tail end of a conversation about a condor and eagle and it was enough to arouse her curiousity to make enquiries about where she could find out more.

Now in Lake Titicaca, she was advised to consult with one of the indigenous elders whose ancestors go way back to the Mayans and Incas.

It was here that they arrived at the humble dwelling of Balam, which in the Mayan language means 'Jaguar.'

He spoke of an ancient prophecy passed down over the ages from the Incas, where our human family splits and separates into two distinct paths - that of the Condor and Eagle.

In the prophecy, it was stated:

The Eagle represents the path of the mind, of industrialisation, and of the masculine, while the Condor represents the path of the heart, of intuition, and of the feminine."

"The prophecy foresees a time when the Eagle people, who embody power and expansionism, would nearly drive the Condor people, who represent culture and tradition, out of existence."

"The prophecy states that the Eagle people would dominate and nearly eliminate the Condor people."

"When the North American Eagle and the South American Condor unite, the spirit of peace will awaken on Earth".

"Many indigenous and people from all walks of life and locations, believe that time has come." Balam added

"Do you believe that Balam?" asked Jake doubtfully.

"It is unimportant what I believe young man, replied Balam, but more to the point, what do you believe?"

"I really don't know!" said Jake, looking quizzically at Angelique, who responded by shrugging her shoulders.

Then it dawned on him about what he had learnt in Egypt and almost smugly replies, "I am going to find out, by taking off my doubting hat and put on my empowering, critical thinking hat."

The older man looking bewildered, shook his head and directed to Angelique with his hand placed on his heart, whispered, "You know what is needed here my dear, just remind him now and again."
And off he went to attend to his Llamas

For the next few days, the pair fulfilled their primary purpose of visiting the earths most sacred sites, learning about the Peruvian culture, a little about the Mayans and Incas, trying out the food, exploring the floating villages and some day-trip hiking in the Andes.

Item 1 of 15

Their ten-day stay was drawing to a close, so it was time to take stock of their experiences and what they had learnt to carry away with them, for the rest of their lives.

Jake waded in enthusiastically with, "How I see the prophecy unfolding in today's world, is we as human beings have separated ourselves from each other by colour, race, religion and beliefs, to name a few and that is represented by the eagle and the condor being disconnected from each other."

"Yes!" exclaimed Angelique, "and on a personal level, with our two primary elements, one being the fear-based EGO and the other our love-based hearts, there is more separateness, more duality!'

They were on a roll now and Jake fired back, "Look how we have separated ourselves from Nature too, damaging our air, waters and soil!"

"Not to mention how some in society think and believe they are more superior, better than others, when we are all equal." Angelique added.

"We have wars, wealth disparities, poverty, deforestation, homelessness and a plethora of separation taking place globally.'

"OMG!" cried Jake, "I just realised something Angel! All this separation is ultimately drawing us together, like the eagle and the condor!

It is through separation that we can find common ground and ultimately, open our hearts to realise everything and everyone is interconnected!"

Quite honestly, Angelique was absolutely gobsmacked and looked Jake in the eye and lovingly said, "Thank you Jake, for bumping into me on that Italian bridge!"

"We are reuniting as a species, albeit slowly just like the Condor and Eagle didn't connect overnight."

"We have and are still experiencing what we DON'T want, which begets the question, "Well, what DO I want?"

"All the signs are there now that we can and will create a new, more conscious and interconnected humanity."

And another one bites the dust!
