Birth and Death are all
part of our life cycle,
so why fight it?

"Nothing is certain except death and taxes"
Benjamin Franklin

Let me share a belief I have about death and dying.

It is my understanding that we each come into this incarnation with a Life Purpose.
Some people connect to it and express it throughout their lives, some never uncover it.

When we have completed our Life Purpose, or our 'mission', we will find a way to dispose of our body, be it a sudden heart attack or accident, a long debilitating illness, or any other form of disconnection that leads us to the ultimate transition from this life, to another realm.

Therefore, I see people's 'passing' as an opportune cause to celebrate their lives and their onward journey and yes, we will miss them, but knowing they never 'died,' is a soothing balm for our mind.

Why is there so much fear surrounding death and dying?

Where does our fear of death come from and why is it so prominent in our thoughts?

What is lurking behind this fear, as infinite beings occupying these bodies?

Why is there so much obsession around the fear of this body finishing up its last cycle of breath and becoming lifeless?

A lot of it is due to our belief systems and the material sciences.

The information we have been fed about what will happen after we die, may not resonate with our true nature, which is deeply and authentically spiritual.

One idea sown, is it will be an excruciatingly painful experience if we haven't been good boys and good girls, good men, or good women.

Many of our religions, suggests that if we haven't been good, we will rot in hell, roast in fire and damnation for the rest of eternity, which is an awfully long time.

However, if we have been good, we will reside in a place called 'heaven' and everything will be 'honky dory', as they are prone to say in Australia.

What if this is just a story we have been told?

What if it is something
completely different?

The truth from my limited perspective, is probably more along these lines.

The action of passing out of this body is no more painful than a snake shedding its skin, locking its tail skin into a rock or twig, pulling and sliding out, renewed, regenerated and leaving behind the old skin that was of no longer of benefit to it.

And yes, some of these bodily experiences prior to passing can be painful, the actual process of leading up to this transition can be very uncomfortable, as in a long debilitating illness, injury and the associated fear of death.

However, based on thousands of well documented Near Death Experiences (NDEs), immediately we leave the body, severing the connection, a profound sense of peace and calm prevails, with no associated physical pain.

So, the actual process of transitioning into another realm, back into the domain of infiniteness should be welcomed.

When we can welcome death as an integral part of life, and let go all of the fear surrounding our inevitable passing, then we can truly live, expressing ourselves as creative beings, with no fear, or limitations.

Unless you are a Buddhist monk, some of whom can postulate the date and exact time of their own death and quietly pass away, which I think is a very dignified way of leaving, most of us don't have any idea when we are going to depart this physical form.

So why worry about it?

What control do you have over it?

Why not roll up your sleeves and get on with life, living it to the fullest and being of value to society and the world at large?

Here is an idea.

We don't know how many days we've got left, so let's make the best of every day.

Let's do the most we can to fill every day with love, compassion and acts of kindness.

Live each and every day to the fullest, as if it were our last.

We can change our belief systems.

If your life is a burden, change it into life is a gift.

Honour and respect that gift and make the very best of it.

Go out and do that today.

Park all your fears surrounding the subject of death and just live life fully, day-by-day from your heart.

"Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.

I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on the ripened grain.

I am the gentle Autumn’s rain.

When you awaken in the morning hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight.

I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry.

I am not there.

I did not die."

Hopi Prayer

You, the infinite consciousness,
never dies.
