Earth Calling - Do you hear me?

At this stage we only have one habitable home and that is the Earth.

There may be other options in the future but for now, it well behooves us to
look after this one!

My Mum is coming to visit us (actually she’s not, because she passed away some years ago), but humour me for a while with this little satire and you will see where I am going with it.

Our idea is to have a bit of fun with her and do something entirely different.

We plan to add a little poison and toxins to her special lunch, not enough to kill her mind you (because as mentioned earlier, she is no longer with us), but just enough to make her very sick, perfect a few projectile vomits here and there and experience loads of toxins oozing out of her skin.

Next up, still on the subject of skin, we are going to make her take a bath in all sorts of noxious chemicals, toxic substances, oil, grease, tar and what have you.

Yeah, lets lather that milky white skin up in an unhealthy, vile concoction of life debilitating substances, which penetrate every inch of her surface.

We don’t want her missing out or having too much fun, so we will add some heavy duty aerosols, poisonous vapours, smoke, toxic exhaust gases and throw in a good dose of cow farts, cunningly disguised as Methane gas, for good measure.

And finally, to ensure she really gets to experience the spirit or our generousity, we are going to gift-wrap her in filthy, thrown-away plastic, old tyres, batteries, sump oil and a touch of radioactive hazardous waste.

Force her to swallow some small fireworks, and the pièce de rĂ©sistance will be lighting the wicks and watching her insides fracturing into tiny pieces.

“What a callous bastard!” you may mutter and rightly so, but the truth is, I loved my Mum dearly, and still do, we had a deep closeness, I was gifted a wonderful upbringing and rarely a day goes by where I don’t honour and feel deep gratitude towards her.

So what is this all about then?

Aren't we supposed to be in a time of peace, love and sharing?

Would any sane, rational son or daughter even contemplate doing this to their mother?

No, absolutely not!

But wait, what about our real mother, Mother Earth, the one that has endured all of the above during and since the Industrial Revolution and still keeps on giving and giving us all we need to survive and thrive.

What about Mother Earth?

â€śJust a rock” some may say, â€śIn fact, the third rock from the sun.”

Well if that is the case, a helluva lot of indigenous folks must have got it horribly wrong, along with James Lovelock of The Gaia Theory fame.

Then there is Nikola Tesla discovering the resonance frequency of the Earth, (Now known as the Schumann Resonance), and millions of feeling and sensing human beings who know the truth intuitively and through their hearts.

We the human species, many of whom have lost our true connection to our Mother Earth, are fully responsible for the degradation, disturbance and pollution of our planet, the only home we have.

Why would we do that to our real Earthly Mum and why would we idly sit back and allow it to be done?

"We are living on the Earth, and we are destroying it.

A shift in consciousness is the only way forward.

Pachamama (Mother Earth) is speaking to us and telling us that we have to change”

Jocelyn Mercado

So what is the solution?

Having in the past, been gainfully employed as an environmentalist at senior management level, in Corporate for 23 years, I could offer many ideas and activities that we could do to arrest the declining health of our Mother Earth, but because this is not a self-help manual, I will spare you the endless list.

Instead, I will leave you to choose what you can do personally and collectively and remain optimist that you will choose well.

I will, however, leave these following snippets of truth for you to ponder.

1) Albert Einstein’s definition of insanity:

“Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results .”

2) It is going to take a fundamental shift in consciousness to turn around our current human condition and restore our precious Mother Earth back to health and vitality.

Hint - Consciousness and love are synonyms

3) It is sheer folly and apathy that we can expect and rely on everyone else to step up and resolve this situation, while we sit idly back, going on hoping and believing that somehow with no personal effort expended, the problem will just go away.

It won’t!

4) There is no fluttering fairy arriving anytime soon, who will sprinkle her magic pixie dust upon the Earth and clean up our mess.

5) If we take every man, woman and child off this planet, she will renew and restore herself back to original, pristine beauty.

But we don't have to leave, we just have to make more conscious, responsible choices!

Tendered with hope and faith in the human family, that we will do the right thing.

 Hey, anything is possible!

Honour and Respect Mother Earth.

Every day is her
b-earth-day!
